Dixie is looking for her forever home!

Hey! My name is Dixie,I’m a 9 month old German shepherd and I am looking for a forever home. I was brought to the Lodi Veterinary Hospital over the weekend because I had gotten a little to rambunctious on a play-set and hurt myself somehow. When my owners took me in for a physical exam and some x-rays they found out that I had dislocated my elbow, and possibly fractured it!

My owners loved me very much, but knew they were unable to afford to fix me. When the good doctor at LVH recommended The Second Chance Fund, they jumped at the opportunity.

So I was accepted into the program, and the doctors got to work right away. They were able to re-set my elbow, and hopefully with continual physical therapy and a few weeks in a splint I should be all healed up. There is a good chance I will end up with arthritis when I’m older, but I’m just thankful for my second chance at life.

A little information about me…I love swimming pools and I am crate trained. I previously lived with a small dog and a human baby and did just fine. I am currently with my foster family, so there will be more news about me coming soon, but in the mean time, if you have any questions or would like to set up a time to meet me, contact the awesome people below or check out www.thesecondchancefund.org for adoption details or an application!

Thanks for thinking of me!
Dixie
