Meet Ada

Hi Guys! My name is Ada. I am a chocolate Labrador Retriever puppy who was recently given a Second Chance. I know I look healthy but I have a very serious condition. I was born with a vascular ring anomaly (I can hardly even say that!). My condition means that I had a vessel wrapped around my esophogus that wasn't supposed to be there. It made it impossible for me to pass solid food into my stomach and I needed surgery if I was going to have any chance at living a normal life. My surgery went well but we still aren't sure yet if I'm going to be able to eat like a normal dog. In the meantime, I just have to hang out in my awesome foster home while I grow so the Doctors can decide if my esophogus will resume normal function! Come check out the blog often for updates about my progress -- plus I'll keep putting cute pictures of myself in hopes that when I'm considered adoptable some loving family will take me home!

Sometimes when I'm hard at work, I help out the front desk staff at the vet clinic by guarding the recycling bin :)

This is my bear. His name is "Bear". I'm his only friend so I spend a lot of time cuddling with him so that he isn't lonely. I guess I don't mind the nap time either (anyone see a trend here?)

I'm working on my skills as a Retriever even though my toys are sooo heavy.  It's exhausting being a puppy!
